Job Title: Assistant Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment (CFA)
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is actively seeking a general surgeon at the assistant/associate professor level. The Assistant/Associate Professor will function in a clinical role in the collaborative management of patients with malignancy requiring elective general surgical consultations and vascular access procedures as well as patients with acute general surgical conditions. The position may involve a clinical research program, such as in health services/outcomes research in General, Acute and Palliative Surgical Oncology within the Department. The position is part of a strategic effort by the Department of Surgical Oncology to develop an Acute General Surgery Service within a major freestanding cancer center, a novel endeavor and one of the first such programs in the country. Applicants with both basic laparoscopic skills as well as advanced laparoscopic hernia repair skills are preferred. Each year more than 60,000 patients turn to us for treatment and MD Anderson Cancer Center has been ranked as one of the top two hospitals in cancer care every year since U.S. News & World Report began its annual “Best Hospitals” survey in 1990.
