Company Profile
Company Overview
Wayland Baptist University provides an approach to higher education that is affordable, flexible, and designed to meet the needs of both traditional and non-traditional students.
As one of twelve external campuses, the Fairbanks campus “exists to educate students in an academically challenging, learning focused, distinctively Christian environment for professional success, lifelong leaning, and service to God and humankind.” The Wayland Baptist University system is the fourth largest Baptist University in the country and is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the highest level of accreditation in the United States. We are also ranked, by the United States Department of Defense, as one of the top 10 universities in the world in providing outstanding educational opportunities to military personnel and their families.
At the Fairbanks campus, instruction is provided in a variety of formats: face-to-face classes; hybrid classes (a combination of face-to-face and online classes); and virtual classes. In an effort to meet the needs of our working adult learners, our face-to-face classes meet during the evening hours or on weekends. Classes are currently taught on Fort Wainwright, in North Pole, and at Eielson Air Force Base. We are in the process of leasing a civilian site in Fairbanks. This location will have administrative offices for our full-time faculty as well as classrooms and a computer/testing lab.
Our primary undergraduate degree, the Bachelor of Applied Science with hundreds of specializations, may be taken through face-to-face classes, totally online, or any combination of the two.
Our primary graduate degrees, the Master of Arts in Management and Master of Education in Instructional Leadership, at the rate of two classes per term, can be completed in 1 1/2 years. These Master degree programs are also available in a totally online format. That means that no matter where or when you move, you can finish your degree with Wayland without losing hard earned college credits.
Our Christian faculty and staff are skilled in meeting the needs of civilian and military students who are interested in obtaining the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in today’s global society. We believe in lifelong learning personally, professionally, and spiritually.
